  • Pilut (shoulder) is expected to return to the ice in mid-October. Pilut's timeline after his shoulder surgery was 5-6 months, so it appears he is on track in his recovery. The defender should eventually push for a role with the Sabres this season, but will likely need to spend some time in the minors as well. Last season, the 22-year-old saw action in 33 contests for Buffalo, in which he notched one goal, five helpers and 37 shots while averaging 17:25 of ice time.

  • Sabres' Lawrence Pilut: Out 5-6 months
    By RotoWire Staff

Pilut underwent shoulder surgery Monday that will sideline him for 5-6 months. Even on the short end of his timeline, Pilut won't be ready for Opening Night in October and could miss the first month of the season. The blueliner played in just 33 NHL games this season, in which he tallied one goal, five assists and 37 shots while averaging 17:25 of ice time. Despite his limited NHL experience, the Swede had a very good chance of making the 23-man roster coming out of camp, but now could start the 2019-20 campaign in the minors while rehabbing his injury.

    By RotoWire Staff

Pilut was assigned to AHL Rochester on Monday. Pilut figures to suit up Monday when Rochester takes on Cleveland. In 28 AHL games, the defenseman scored four goals and added 22 assists this season, far better than his NHL production, which was limited to just six points in 33 appearances in 2018-19.

Pilut was recalled from AHL Rochester on Sunday. Pilut's call-up could have something to do with the fact that fellow defenseman Zach Bogosian (undisclosed) was unable to practice Sunday. The 23-year-old has suited up in 23 games for Buffalo this season and has recorded six points. It's unclear whether Pilut will draw into the lineup for Monday's game against New Jersey.

  • Sabres' Lawrence Pilut: Sent to AHL
    By RotoWire Staff

Pilut is being sent down to Rochester of the AHL. Pilut started out strong, but he posted just a single point in his last 13 games and was a healthy scratch during Thursday's contest in Tampa Bay. The Sabres have plenty of depth on the blue line, so he'll go to the AHL in order for the team to bring up more forwards. Additionally, this gives Pilut a chance to play more meaningful minutes.
