  • Dellandrea will start the 2020-21 campaign on loan with Finnish club JYP Jyvaskyla. Dellandrea racked up 32 goals and 38 helpers in 47 appearances for OHL Flint this season, which saw him added to the expanded roster in the playoff bubble. Looking ahead to next year, the 20-year-old center should be in contention for a spot on the 23-man roster, though some time in the minors could also be in his future.

  • Dellandrea will be in the mix for a spot on the 23-man roster ahead of the 2020-21 campaign, per Sean Shapiro of The Athletic. Dellandrea spent the 2019-20 campaign in juniors with OHL Flint, for which he racked up 32 goals and 38 helpers in 47 outings, both career highs. Even if the 19-year-old doesn't make the Stars coming out of training camp, the club will likely want to assign him to AHL Texas to make him available for a call-up during the season.

  • Dellandrea registered a hat trick in OHL Flint's 6-4 loss to Sarnia on Wednesday. The 2018 first-rounder (13th overall) fired a team-high eight shots on goal for good measure. Flint (10-6-2-4) is a much improved team this season and Dellandrea's production (11 goals, 23 points in 19 games) has increased as a result. He should be a key cog for Team Canada at next month's World Junior Championship.

  • Dellandrea has been reassigned from OHL Flint to AHL Texas, the Dallas Stars official website reports. With Flint being one of the worst teams in the OHL (16-46-6) and the club out of the playoff picture for months, Dellandrea will finish the season with Dallas's AHL affiliate, the Texas Stars. The 2018 first-round selection (13th overall) finished his OHL campaign with 22 goals and 63 points in 60 games. Those statistics have to be taken with a grain of salt given the lack of talent on Flint's roster. Dellandrea certainly would have put up better numbers had he been playing for a better junior organization.

  • Dellandrea chipped in two assists in OHL Flint's 7-1 rout of Kingston on Sunday. Flint (4-29-2) is by far the worst team in all the CHL, but Dellandrea is making the best of a bad situation. He gets significant minutes in all situations and is producing offensively (31 points in 29 games) despite the lack of talent surrounding him. Dellandrea was a recent cut at Canadian World Junior camp, but the 2018 first-rounder should stand a decent chance of cracking the roster next year.
