  • Ducks' Ryan Getzlaf: Could be ready Monday
    By RotoWire Staff

Getzlaf (face) is trending towards being with the team for Monday's contest against the Hurricanes, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports. Getzlaf ran with the top line at Anaheim's practice Saturday, centering Rickard Rakell and Corey Perry in a possible preview of what the team could roll out upon the return of its captain. The Saskatchewan native was off to a nice start to the season before getting injured, posting seven points in his first six games, so a return ahead of schedule would be a welcome gesture for fantasy owners and the Ducks alike.

  • Ducks' Ryan Getzlaf: Set to travel with team
    By RotoWire Staff

Getzlaf (face) will join the Ducks on their upcoming road trip that kicks off Dec. 14 at St Louis, Helene Elliott of the Los Angeles Times reports. While the news does eliminate Getzlaf from contention for the Ducks' next two outings, fantasy owners who have been stashing him during his 18-game stint on injured reserve will certainly be happy with the latest news. The center has the benefit of being able to keep his legs under him during his recovery from surgery to repair a broken zygomatic bone. Whether Getzlaf suits up during the seven-game road trip has yet to be announced, but don't be surprised to see him activated off injured reserve before the month is out.

  • Ducks' Ryan Getzlaf: Return date undetermined
    By RotoWire Staff

Getzlaf (face) still has no timetable for his return, according to head coach Randy Carlyle, Eric Stephens of The Orange County Register reports. While this is discouraging news on the surface, the bench boss did note that Getzlaf and two-way forward Ryan Kesler (hip) are "starting to appear on the radar," and that at least leads us to believe that they could return at some point in mid-December.

  • Ducks' Ryan Getzlaf: Appears ahead of schedule
    By RotoWire Staff

Getzlaf (face) has been skating every day, according to Ducks GM Doug Murray, who added that the captain should be on the team's next road trip. We're pretty sure that Murray isn't counting on Getzlaf and Ryan Kesler (hip) returning for a three-game road trip that begins Friday against the Blue Jackets, but perhaps as soon as Dec. 14 in St. Louis to commence a six-game stretch away from Anaheim. Prior to his injury, Getzlaf collected seven points in six games, which is still greater than the output of seven other Ducks this season.

  • Getzlaf (face) recently underwent surgery to repair his zygomatic bone in his cheek. According to GM Bob Murray, he could be out up to two months. Getzlaf has already missed eight games this year (not all related to this injury) and the Ducks are also missing Ryan Kesler (hip) at center. The loss of Getzlaf for another couple months is a huge blow to the Ducks offense, and will put the onus on guys like Derek Grant and Antoine Vermette to step up.
