  • Vitali Abramov: Signs with KHL club

Abramov has signed with Traktor Chelyabisnk of the KHL. Abramov has been pretty productive in the AHL over the past two seasons, racking up 25 goals and 60 points through 74 games, but he hasn't been able to carve out a significant role with Ottawa, appearing in just four NHL contests over that span. The Senators do hold his rights for restricted free agency, however, and if they so choose, could retain them by sending Abramov a qualifying offer this offseason.

  • Senators' Vitali Abramov: Sent to AHL affiliate

Abramov was reassigned to AHL Belleville on Tuesday. The Senators only have one game remaining this season Wednesday versus Toronto, so Abramov has almost certainly seen his last NHL action of the year. Assuming that ends up being the case, he'll finish the campaign having gone scoreless through two top-level appearances.

  • Senators' Vitali Abramov: Moved back to taxi squad

Abramov was reassigned to Ottawa's taxi squad Sunday. Abramov won't play in Sunday's game against the Flames as a result. He appeared in Ottawa's last two games but failed to record a point or shot on goal.

  • Senators' Vitali Abramov: Bumps up rank

The Senators recalled Abramov to the taxi squad via AHL Belleville on Sunday. The 22-year-old continues to bounce between the minors and taxi squad this season, as he's yet to suit up in NHL action in 2020-21. In 22 AHL games, Abramov has racked up six goals and 17 points over that span. Abramov will add depth, but he's not expected to be in the lineup for Monday's game against Calgary.

  • Senators' Vitali Abramov: Recalled from minors

Abramov was called up from AHL Belleville on Monday. Abramov will join the Senators' taxi squad for Monday's meeting with the Flames but shouldn't be expected to get into the lineup. • Senators' Vitali Abramov: Assigned to AHL

Abramov was assigned to AHL Belleville on Tuesday, TSN reports. Abramov was playing for Jukurit of the Finnish Hockey League, recording five goals and two assists over eight games. The 22-year-old will continue his development in Belleville, but it wouldn't be surprising if he got a test run with the big club at some point.

  • Senators' Vitali Abramov: Loaned overseas

Abramov will start the 2020-21 campaign on loan with Mikkelin Jukurit (Finland). Abramov spent the bulk of the season in the minors with AHL Belleville, appearing in 51 games in which he notched 18 goals and 23 helpers. In his two NHL outings, the 21-year-old winger garnered one goal, three shots and two PIM while averaging a mere 5:47 of ice time. The Russian figures to rejoin Ottawa when training camps start up, though he could struggle to secure a spot on the 23-man roster.

  • Senators' Vitali Abramov: Demoted Sunday

The Senators sent Abramov down to AHL Belleville on Sunday. The 21-year-old got the call last week, and notched his first career goal against the Blues in his first career game. Abramov only averaged 5:47 of ice time through two games, so his demotion was likely coming. Now that Abramov has been demoted, look for Mikkel Boedker to draw back into the lineup at left wing.

  • Senators' Vitali Abramov: Promoted from minors

Abramov was recalled from AHL Belleville on Monday. Abramov will get his first chance to slot into a game for the Senators this season, after the winger was called up ahead of Thursday's clash with St. Louis in favor of Drake Batherson. Despite the promotion, the Russian winger is far from a lock for the lineup and could find himself back in the minors before too long.

  • Senators' Vitali Abramov: Ready for preseason finale

Abramov (concussion) will play in Saturday's road preseason game versus the Canadiens, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports. Abramov is expected to spend the majority of the season in the minors, but he could start the season with the big club if its forward corps can't get healthy. The 21-year-old winger posted 29 points in 70 AHL games last year, so his ceiling appears to be a bottom-six role at the NHL level.

  • Senators' Vitali Abramov: Sustains concussion

According to coach DJ Smith, Abramov is dealing with a concussion, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports. Abramov had an outside chance of securing a spot on the 23-man roster, but this concussion will likely guarantee that he starts the year in the minors. The Russian registered 16 goals and 13 helpers in the AHL last season and should be in contention for a call-up or two during the 2019-20 campaign.

  • Senators' Vitali Abramov: Sent back to minors

Abramov was reassigned to AHL Belleville on Friday. In the minors, the Russian has 26 points (14 goals, 12 assists) over 61 games.

  • Senators' Vitali Abramov: Promoted from minors

Abramov was recalled from AHL Belleville on Thursday. Abramov could find himself inserted into the lineup versus Calgary on Thursday depending on whether Jean-Gabriel Pageau is suspended by the league. In the minors this season, the 20-year-old racked up 14 goals and 12 helpers in 61 outings, which is no doubt why the Senators wanted him included in the Matt Duchene trade.

  • Senators' Vitali Abramov: Traded to Ottawa

Abramov has been traded to the Senators as part of a package that includes Jonathan Davidsson and other pieces yet to be announced in exchange for the Blue Jackets acquiring Matt Duchene and Julius Bergman, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports. Abramov has been pretty disappointing during his first full AHL campaign, notching 12 goals and 22 points in 52 appearances with Cleveland. Due to the dismal state of the Senators' roster, the 5-foot-9 Russian could get a look at the NHL level later this season, but there's no reason to believe he'll have any fantasy value in redraft leagues in 2018-19.

  • Blue Jackets' Vitali Abramov: Not producing in first AHL campaign

Abramov picked up an assist to snap a six-game point drought in AHL Cleveland's 3-2 loss to Belleville on Wednesday. Abramov, a former QMJHL MVP, Rookie of the Year and scoring leader, has found the full-time transition to professional hockey a difficult one. The diminutive Russian has just five goals and 12 points in 34 games for the Monsters, including just one point with the man advantage. Those numbers are simply not going to get the job done for a player who is relied upon to put the puck in the net. If Artemi Panarin leaves the Jackets this summer as an unrestricted free agent, Abramov has the skill set to help fill the void, but he needs to show something in the minors before he is potentially given that opportunity.

  • Blue Jackets' Vitali Abramov: Assigned to AHL Cleveland

Abramov was assigned to AHL Cleveland on Monday, Adam Jardy of The Columbus Dispatch reports. It's not a surprise that the Jackets' top offensive prospect will begin his pro career with the Monsters. Assuming he holds his own in the AHL, Abramov could make his NHL debut later in the year as injuries open up spots on the wing in Columbus.

Abramov (wrist) will be in action for Monday's preseason tilt against the Red Wings, Alison Lukan of The Athletic Columbus reports. Abramov racked up 104 points in 56 games in juniors last season and will be looking to break into the Blue Jackets' lineup for opening night. If the does miss out on a roster spot, the winger will be reassigned to AHL Cleveland and figures to headline the short list of potential call-ups throughout the season.

  • Blue Jackets' Vitali Abramov: Forced out of prospects tournament

Abramov will miss the Traverse City Prospects Tournament, according to Aaron Portzline of The Athletic Cleveland, as he is still recovering from wrist surgery. Abramov underwent surgery in May and has already missed summer development camp. The 20-year-old winger was expected to be ready for training camp, but this development may push back his return schedule. He has aged out of juniors and will be battling for a spot in Columbus or AHL Cleveland upon his return from injury.
