2019 Diana Stakes odds, contenders, lineup: Picks, predictions from expert who nailed Derby prep races
Jody Demling is on a hot streak on his horse racing picks
The 2019 Diana Stakes at Saratoga Race Course is trainer Chad Brown's race to lose on Saturday. The multiple Eclipse award-winning trainer has four of the six entrants in the 1 1/8-mile turf race for fillies and mares, including the three favorites. Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf champion Sistercharlie is the 8-5 favorite in the current 2019 Diana Stakes odds and enters the race as the defending champion. Four-time Grade 1 winner Rushing Fall is right behind her at 9-5, while the impressive Homerique is at 5-2 Diana Stakes odds 2019. The other three entrants are 8-1 or higher. Post time is 5:46 p.m. ET. With the race featuring a small but accomplished field, you'll want to see the horse racing predictions from SportsLine's Jody Demling before making any 2019 Diana Stakes picks of your own.
A fixture in the horse racing world who has been writing about, talking about and betting on races for years, Demling is on a hot handicapping run. In January he nailed the superfecta at the prestigious Pegasus World Cup -- a $678 payout on a $1 bet. The following month he hit the superfecta at the Robert B. Lewis Stakes and correctly picked War of Will to win the Risen Star Stakes.
On April 6, Demling scored the exacta and trifecta in the Santa Anita Derby, Blue Grass Stakes and Wood Memorial on the same day. One week later he hit the exacta, trifecta and superfecta in the Arkansas Derby. The following week, he nailed the exacta, trifecta and superfecta in the Dixiana Elkhorn Stakes, winning $408.38 on a $38.40 investment.
And he scored the exacta, trifecta and superfecta in the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes, turning a $50.40 investment into $208.57. Also at Churchill Downs, he's won nine of the last 11 Derby-Oaks doubles. That means he's held a ticket with the winners of the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks all but twice in the last 11 years. Anyone who has followed him is way up.
Now, Demling has analyzed the entire 2019 Diana Stakes lineup and released where he says every horse will finish, along with his exacta, trifecta and superfecta picks. He's sharing all of it only at SportsLine.
We can tell you that Demling is fading Rushing Fall even though she's one of the top favorites at 9-5. In fact, Demling says the daughter of More Than Ready barely hits the board. Rushing Fall has eight wins in nine career starts, has won four straight races and hasn't lost since May of last year.
But in her last three victories, she has been the controlling speed. She's not likely to have that same advantage on Saturday in the Diana Stakes 2019. In addition, the 2019 Diana Stakes field will undoubtedly feature the toughest competition Rushing Fall has faced in her career. There are far better values than the 9-5 odds she's commanding.
Instead, Demling says a long shot will hit the board hard at the Diana Stakes 2019. He is including this horse in his exactas, trifectas and superfectas, and so should you. He's sharing which horse to back, and his entire projected 2019 Diana Stakes leaderboard, only at SportsLine.
