Andy Murray back in Wimbledon final, will face Novak Djokovic
Andy Murray beat Jerzy Janowicz Friday, earning his second consecutive berth in the Wimbledon final.
British tennis star Andy Murray will get his shot at redemption Sunday, returning to the Wimbledon final for the second time in two years.
"This year has been a little bit different to last year," Murray said after the match. "This year I've been expected to get to the final. It'll be a tough match.
A year ago, Murray lost a heart-breaking match to Roger Federer at the All England Club, but he will get another chance to become the first British man to win Wimbledon since 1936.
Janowicz had visions of depriving Murray that opportunity as he came out firing, taking the first-set tiebreaker and jumping out to a 4-1 lead in the third set.
But the tide turned when Janowicz appeared to have said something to Murray after a point in the third -- there was at least a steely glare -- which seemed to ignite both the British star and the largely partisan Centre Court crowd.
Murray went on to win the five straight games and steal the set, putting him back in charge.
The start of the fourth set was delayed about 30 minutes to close the roof, much to the chagrin of Murray, who spiritedly argued his case to no avail.
"It's a tough situation," Murray said afterwards to ESPN. "There was probably 45 minutes of light left. You know, I like to think this is an outdoor event -- you try to play as much outdoors as you can."
Murray didn't lose a step after the delay, easily finishing off Janowicz.
Sunday will mark Murray's seventh appearance in a Grand Slam final.
