Broncos DE Derek Wolfe (illness) out for AFC West battle vs. Chiefs
Denver Broncos defensive end Derek Wolfe has been ruled out for Sunday's AFC West showdown against the Chiefs at Kansas City because of illness.
Wolfe was taken to Denver hospital, where he was treated after becoming ill on the team's bus to the airport Friday. He was being evaluated to determing the cause of illness.
Wolfe has started 11 gamees this season and plays defensive end in their base defense and tackle on passing downs.
"After the club's medical staff examined him, he was taken to the hospital by ambulance for testing and observation." the Broncos said in a statement. "At this time, Wolfe is continuing to be evaluated by doctors to determine the cause of his symptoms."
