The shocking tweet heard around the world on Tuesday from Conor McGregor definitely got everyone's attention. Hours after posting on Twitter that he was going to retire young, UFC president Dana White announced McGregor's fight against Nate Diaz would no longer be the headline fight at UFC 200 in July.

White also went on The Herd with Colin Cowherd on Wednesday to further discuss the decision to pull McGregor from the fight and his future with the company. While White does think McGregor will be back in the UFC soon, his message about retirement needs clarity, according to the UFC president.

"It isn’t about whether or not Conor McGregor is fighting at UFC 200 because it’s been announced that he’s not fighting," White said. "The big question is if he’s retired because if he is, that belt is vacant and they will fight for the title."

Former featherweight champ Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar are currently scheduled to fight for the interim belt at UFC 200 with McGregor taking the rematch against Diaz at welterweight. The original plan was for the winner of that fight to take on McGregor later on this year.

Nobody is quite sure about McGregor's message and the seriousness behind it, but White made it clear over the last two days that the company is not going to sit around and wait for him to make up his mind.
