Well, this is interesting. After the rumor appeared on Friday morning that retired boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather and UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor were "closing in" on a deal for a megafight, UFC president Dana White quickly debunked that theory.
But now, Mayweather is saying these rumors of coming out of retirement could be true and McGregor is being discussed.
"It's possible. It was a name that was shot at me, but the rumors that y'all been hearing is the rumors that I started," Mayweather said. "It may not be a rumor, keep y'all fingers crossed. It may be boxer vs. MMA fighter."
Then, McGregor took to Instagram and posted this image of the two staring down.

This is still one of the craziest ideas imagined for either man to agree to a match in the other's sport. Mayweather said he wants a nine-figure payday to get back into the ring. Meanwhile, McGregor is still publicly beefing with Dana White over being puled from UFC 200.
If this does actually come to fruition, which is a HUGE if, we are in for some of the best smacktalk in the lead up that we have ever heard.
