Injuries force Clint Dempsey and Fabian Johnson off USMNT roster
Clint Dempsey and Fabian Johnson will join a host of players unavailable for the USMNT's next two friendlies.
After releasing a Landon Donovan-less roster earlier in the week for its two upcoming friendlies, the United States Men's National Team learned Wednesday that it will be even more shorthanded for its matches with Scotland and Austria.
Forward Clint Dempsey and midfielder Fabian Johnson will not play in either game, according to the Associated Press. No replacements have been named.
Johnson has been bothered by a sprained ankle, and it was reported that Dempsey strained his calf while training Wednesday.
The USMNT will face Scotland Friday in Glasgow before traveling to play Austria next Tuesday.
