Neymar says back is 'almost 100 percent' ahead of Barcelona season
The Brazilian suffered a fractured vertebra against Colombia in the World Cup quarterfinals.
Brazilian striker Neymar was knocked out of the World Cup with a fractured vertebra in the quarterfinal match against Colombia, but the 22-year-old said Thursday at a promotional appearance in Japan that he's almost fully healed.
"It's all good. My back is improving. It's almost 100 percent," he said, according to the Associated Press. "I'm looking forward to joining my teammates and helping them win the title."
Neymar's professional squad, Barcelona, will play a preseason friendly Aug. 18. It's unclear whether he'll be ready to play by then, but Neymar is reportedly hoping to be on the field.
Barcelona's season officially begins Aug. 24.
