Novak Djokovic breezes into third round of US Open
The world's best player moved into the third round of the US Open Friday.
Djokovic fought off two set points and order returned to Flushing Meadows, as the former champion won a first set tiebreak then cruised to a straight set victory, 7-6 (7-2) 6-2 6-2.
It was a touch match for me today," Djokovic told ESPN after the match. "Becker is a quality opponent, and he should have won the first set. I was fortunate enough to come back, and after that I felt much more comfortable on the court."
Becker committed 36 unforced errors in the match, and he was never able to regain the form he had out of the gate.
Djokovic moves on to face Joao Souza in the third round.
