VIDEO: Sergeant surprises family in return at Sporting Kansas City match
At this weekend's MLS game in Kansas City against the LA Galaxy, Army Sergeant Matthew Burns surprised his family with the help of Sporting Kansas City.
Sports are great but sometimes it's what happens during the breaks that is even better, like when a soldier surprises his/her loved ones.
MLS side Sporting Kansas City helped make that happen for Sergeant Matthew Burns, who had been deployed in Afghanistan and was then stationed in Germany. With his family in attendance at this weekend's game against the LA Galaxy, they were being honored on the pitch in a quick ceremony when they directed attention to the video board.
On the big screen was Burns, saying how jealous he was his family was at Sporting Park to see SKC but he'd see them soon. That's when the black backdrop disappared to reveal the video was taped in front of the stall of USMNT defender and SKC star Matt Besler.
When they turned around there was Burns, waiting to surprise his family. It worked. The looks on all of their faces: priceless.
These just never get old.
