Adam Scott's loss and Bubba Watson's 83 highlight week in golf
Matt Every was great on Sunday but there were a lot of things that had to go his way to get win No. 1, namely the best player in the world choking away a Sunday lead.
Bay Hill wasn't as exciting without Tiger Woods but that doesn't mean we were totally devoid of drama on Sunday afternoon. Here's a recap of what you missed this week in the world of golf.
Top three stories
1. Adam Scott blew the Arnold Palmer Invitational: I don't want to take away from Matt Every but Scott's 76 on Sunday as an abomination. A 73 would have won it and a 74 would have gotten him into a playoff with Every. And he shot 76 with over 30 putts.
2. Matt Every's long journey: The 30-year-old Every finally got his first tour win in 93 starts. That he held off two recent major winners and came at the tournament he attended growing up made it all the sweeter.
3. Florida swing was epitome of parity in golf: If you had a Russell Henley-Patrick Reed-John Senden-Matt Every ticket this time four weeks ago, you likely won a lot of cash. Parity ruled this month-long swing but I'm not convinced it will carry over to the majors.

This with Matt Every after win No. 1 will make you remember why you love professional golf:
Bubba Watson had a seven and a 11 en route to a first-round 83. Yikes.
Tiger Woods didn't play this weekend. And he said on Monday that Augusta is looking questionable. So...yeah.

No change in the top 10 once again. Though apparently Henrik Stenson could be No. 1 going to Augusta if he wins in the next two weeks.
Matt Every goes from No. 94 to No. 44 on account of his win. Patrick Reed jumps into the top five top 20.
Winner gets ...
Matt Every gets $1.12 million for winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational. It's more money than he's ever made in a single season on tour.
"I’m annoyed that I didn’t do better today" -Adam Scott after blowing a 36-hole seven-stroke lead.
I love this of Arnold Palmer. Rarely is a tournament as much about its host as it is its players but this week is one of the exceptions.
Questionable decision of the week
I know Arnold Palmer is great, but...
This is pretty amazing:
