Anthony Kim is not even playing golf recreationally
Anthony Kim was once considered a world-class talent. Now folks are just wondering what in the world he's doing.
The man in the chromed-out "AK" belt buckles who dropped 11 birdies in a round at the Masters a few years ago is, apparently, not playing golf anymore.
John Hawkins of Golf Channel wrote in his Monday column that Anthony Kim's agent said he's not even playing golf for fun.
"In search of something resembling context, I asked (Kim's agent Clarke) Jones if Kim was playing any golf, even recreationally.
Well that seems like an issue for somebody whom Jones says he is "hopeful" will return to golf in 2014 after so much time away with injuries.
The Kim case is as curious as they come. As Tap In Golf pointed out today on Twitter, Kim was a top 10 player in the world as recently as four years ago.
He's now No. 1,529.
For context: Justin Rose is currently the No. 10 player in the world. Rory McIlroy is No. 11. Being top 10 or 15 is not a joke.
And yet, Kim has seemingly fallen off the planet at this point. His agent insinuated that he barely knew what his client was doing.
"He’s not living under a bridge, he’s not living in a box," Jones added. "I’m going to go see him [in Texas] in a few weeks, and at that point, I’ll get a better definition of where he stands."
