Bubba Watson leads group of stars outside top 10 at Zurich Classic
Some big names such as Bubba Watson, Rickie Fowler and Ernie Els were struggling to get on top of the leaderboard this week.
The average golf fan wondered, "Who are these guys at the top of the leaderboard?!"
There were some stars at the Zurich Classic, but none of them played well enough to crack the top 10. Bubba Watson and Ernie Els both finished at 12 under and sat just outside the top 10 at the time that Watson's Sunday round finished.
Watson shot a 7-under-par 65 and a 66 this week but posted a 72 and a 73 in his other two rounds, which left him well off the lead.
Justin Rose was eight strokes back with one to play and likely won't make the top 10, either. Rickie Fowler and Jason Dufner both struggled to crack double digits under par (leader at 19 under). Thorbjorn Olesen, K.J. Choi and Keegan Bradley all failed to make the cut.
This isn't necessarily a star-studded event, but the golfers above are no joke, either. Many of them -- looking at you, Fowler and Watson -- struggle with their consistency in general. This week has shown us how difficult it is to stay on top of the Tour week in and week out.
Every pro out here is capable of winning any tournament at any week, and nowhere has that been on display more so than this week in New Orleans.
