The Sergio Garcia-Tiger Woods situation has gone from humorous to really bad to "Oh, my gosh, make this go away" in a few short days.

You all obviously know by now about Garcia's "fried chicken" comment aimed at Woods and the ensuing fallout.

Well, on Thursday European Tour CEO George O'Grady tossed some more gasoline on the fire when he said "most of Sergio's friends are colored athletes in the United States and he is absolutely abject in his apology and we accepted it."

Oh, great. Glad you're here, O'Grady. Thanks for trying to help put this thing to bed.

The CEO eventually apologized, saying, "I deeply regret using an inappropriate word in a live interview for Sky Sports for which I unreservedly apologize."

As Sergio learned on Wednesday, and as O'Grady is about to learn, you just can't un-say some things.
