Father and son make hole-in-one on same hole
This is probably the coolest Father's Day story ever. A father and son in Texas playing golf on Father's Day shot holes-in-one on the same hole.
First of all, the odds.
According to the National Hole-in-One registry, the odds of two golfers making a hole-in-one on the same hole are roughly 1 in 17 million.
You can multiple that by quite a bit though when you consider the circumstances: a fun Father's Day game with two 20-handicap golfers (or worse).
Lonnie Whitener and his son, 13-year-old Zach, each made holes-in-one on Father's Day at the River Pointe Golf Club in Richmond, Texas near Houston.
Lonnie from 115 yards and Zach then covered his up from 100 yards.
The elder Whitener spoke fondly of what has to be the coolest Father's Day memory ever: "It's probably going to be the most memorable thing we accomplish together."
Oh, and were there witnesses?
Of course. A PGA of America golf pro named Lance Lopez was on hand to take in the whole thing.
"We were speechless," Lopez said. "It was like, 'Did that really just happen?'"
It did, Lance. It really did.
