Michael Thompson hung on to win the Honda Classic on Sunday despite a late charge from Geoff Ogilvy. The win is the first of Thompson's young career (and just his second made cut of the season). Here are our grades from the week that was at PGA National:

Michael Thompson

His final round was as good as it gets for a guy who hasn't won on Tour before. And if that wasn't enough, Roll Tide!

Golf GIFs

OK, so it's not the best sport for GIF creation. But we had three jewels this week:

Par golf

A lot of people were lamenting the tough conditions over the weekend (wind and sub-50 temperatures) that led to just 13 rounds under par on Saturday and Sunday.

Me, though? I loved it. Phil Mickelson posting 28-under scores at the Phoenix Open doesn't do much for me. I'd rather see golfers try to beat par.

Tiger Woods I actually agree with this sentiment. Woods didn't play great, but he finished -- and a guy of his stature doesn't have to do that (as McIlroy showed us).

Luke Guthrie's wardrobe

Luke Guthrie is a noted Cubs fan. Maybe he should choose a different color when trying to win a championship of any sort?

Rory McIlroy He gets an "A" for giving us this photo gallery, an Incomplete for his golf but an F for bailing early. I think Jack Nicklaus agrees
