Jason Dufner gives some advice on how to play Muirfield
Jason Dufner offers some tips on Twitter for how to play Muirfield.
Jason Dufner went out early on Sunday and shot a 67 in the final round of the British Open to get himself to 8 over for the tournament, which should be good for a top-30 finish.
His real contrubution to the golf world on this major Sunday has been via Twitter, though. Dufner has been giving his followers advice for how some of the guys left on the course should play the last few holes.
Here's a sampling. First, on the par-5 ninth hole:
9 is a legit eagle chance, a touch long is much better than 40ft short. Green seemed to be a touch slower then the rest of the course today.— Jason Dufner (@JasonDufner) July 21, 2013
Then on what to do (or not do) around the greens:
Watch the green side bunkers this afternoon. Had two today that bounced in and plugged— Jason Dufner (@JasonDufner) July 21, 2013
One tough thing about this week, u need little bounce for full shots and pitching. But tons of bounce for bunkers. I Used 54 mostly— Jason Dufner (@JasonDufner) July 21, 2013
Finally on how to play the last few holes:
The key will be who plays the last 3 best. 16 is playing rough, gotta give the pin away. 17 is a must hit fairway so u can cross the bunkers— Jason Dufner (@JasonDufner) July 21, 2013
18 has a accessible pin, must be in the fairway. And if u can bust a driver, is becomes a birdie chance— Jason Dufner (@JasonDufner) July 21, 2013
And who he thinks is going to win:
My prediction is -2 playoff. Adam Scott and Westwood.— Jason Dufner (@JasonDufner) July 21, 2013
