John Elway runs the Broncos, competes in pro golf tournaments
John Elway shot a 71 in the first round of the Colorado Senior Open.
John Elway is running one of the best professional football franchises in his spare time these days. Well, sort of.
See, Elway is playing in (and contending at!) the Colorado Senior Open this week at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club against professionals. And he shot a 1-under 71 in the first round.
Elway told the Denver Post he feels good about his game.
"I don't remember my bad habits yet," Elway said. "I played as good as I could play. I'm not trying to kill it, hit it as far as I can," he said. "I try to hit it straight."
I guess this isn't a huge surprise given that Elway shot three rounds in the 70s at Augusta when playing with Peyton Manning last season.
It's still impressive, though. Running an NFL team and playing pro golf. The guy just has it all, doesn't he?
