LOOK: Rory McIlroy will sport crazy golf kicks for kids with cancer
Rory McIlroy is going to rock some wild shoes at Royal County Down this weekend for a pretty great cause.
Rory McIlroy is playing the Irish Open at Royal County Down this week, which I'm incredibly stoked about. The event will be hosted by the Rory Foundation which has been established by McIlroy to "to raise funds for children’s charities across the world."
This week, McIlroy will wear four different pairs of Nike Lunar Control 3 shoes throughout the tournament. All four were designed by kids in the Cancer Fund for Children program in a recent contest.
"I’m delighted that the young people associated with the Cancer Fund for Children got to design my shoes,” said McIlroy. “The shoes are really unique with some crazy designs. The Irish Open is going to be a very special event for golf and my Foundation and I am excited to compete in them this week.”
These are my favorites (designed by Alex Kernaghan).
