The first Masters was held in 1934 and there have been 17 players to win multiple green jackets in the event's history.
Now in the ninth decade of the Masters, a number of different golfers have emerged as dominant forces at Augusta National. Some were able to have long, sustained runs of success at Augusta, while others have had short runs of excellence.
We're going to look back at which player or players have captured the most green jackets in each decade.
1930s: Horton Smith (1934, 1936)
1940s: Jimmy Demaret (1940, 1947)
1950s: Sam Snead (1952, 1954) and Ben Hogan (1951, 1953)
1960s: Arnold Palmer (1960, 1962, 1964) and Jack Nicklaus (1963, 1965, 1966)
1970s: Jack Nicklaus (1972, 1976) and Gary Player (1974, 1978)
1980s: Seve Ballesteros (1980, 1983)
1990s: Nick Faldo (1990, 1996) and Jose Maria Olazabal (1994, 1999)
2000s: Tiger Woods (2001, 2002, 2005)
2010s: Bubba Watson (2012, 2014)
Jack Nicklaus obviously stands out as being the only one to make this list in two different decades with five of his record six green jackets coming in the 1960s and 1970s.
The only multi-time Masters champions not to make this list are Byron Nelson (1937, 1942), Tom Watson (1977, 1981), Bernhard Langer (1985, 1993), Ben Crenshaw (1984, 1995) and Phil Mickelson (2004, 2006, 2010).
