Sunday was the last day to automatically make the American Ryder Cup team, and Phil Mickelson did it on the number.

The automatic picks for the American Ryder Cup team are in, and you'd be hard-pressed to say this American team looks worse on paper than the Europeans.
Tiger Woods finished at the top of the points list for the United States team, with Bubba Watson coming in second and Jason Dufner finishing third. The biggest news was Phil Mickelson making his ninth Ryder Cup team on points alone, finishing in the last spot of the automatic choices for next month's showdown at Medinah.
The next four picks will be up to captain Davis Love III, which we won't know until Sept. 4, but the rankings are below of the top-15 so you can see some of the names he has to choose between over the next few weeks.
The Europeans still have until August 26 to land a spot automatically before captain Jose Maria Olazabal has to pick two to add to the 12-man roster.
