The Texas Open announced this via its Facebook page on Wednesday.
"We are thrilled to announce that Phil Mickelson will be joining the field of competitors at the Valero Texas Opennext week. We can't wait to welcome Phil to San Antonio!"
It is also promoting Lefty in a very subtle manner on its website:
Zach Johnson and Jim Furyk are two of the bigger names also committed to the event so adding Mickelson will give the tournament a little more punch.
