Rory McIlroy will be Swooshing it up next year, according to Fox Sports, who reported on Friday that the No. 1 golfer in the world will be joining Nike for the 2013 PGA Tour season.

Robert Lusetich reports that McIlroy was seen filming a commercial for Nike alongside Tiger Woods, Nick Watney and Kyle Stanley, with the last two also being names names to the Nike Golf family, and the deal with McIlroy will be worth in the $200 million range.

There is still no word from Nike exclusively, but reports have been swirling about the Rory and Nike deal, and it seems that the commercial, set to air next season, confirms that this is really happening.

What does it mean for golf? First, it means that Nike Golf is back on the map in terms of PGA Tour presence. Outside of Tiger, the brand was pushing names like Stewart Cink and Paul Casey, who had once been big fixtures on tour but have really struggled of late and haven't done much to promote the product in terms of tour success. Rory joining Nike means that the company has the two biggest names in the game of golf right now and brings a young face to the team to replace what Anthony Kim helped build back when he first splashed on the scene.

It also means that Rory wouldn't just be the highest paid golfer on the Nike staff, but the highest paid athlete, replacing Woods and making him the face of the brand moving forward.

Like so many others, Rory started his career with Titleist, but the money with some of these other brands is too rich and it seems McIlroy is making the financial decision to go where the grass is greener.

People will speculate if it's a good idea for someone like McIlroy to switch club companies when things have been so good for the youngster the last two season (two majors to his resume and he's only 23-years-old), but it seems McIlroy is the rare type that has so much talent, he could get around the PGA Tour with hickory shafts and feather-stuffed golf balls.

So there you have it; Rory and Nike, together at last. This Tiger and Rory bromance is just beginning.
