Rory McIlroy says he's drank 'too many' beverages from the Claret Jug
The British Open isn't going uncelebrated by Rory McIlroy this season. That's for sure.
Rory McIlroy did a Facebook chat on Wednesday -- which was awesome for a number of reasons I'll let you look at for yourself -- and was asked some pretty interesting questions.
One of the ones that caught my eye was "How many adult beverages have you had out of the Claret Jug so far?"
He also said his best 18-hole score ever came when he was 16 years old at Royal Portrush and he has no idea what he would he would be if not a golfer.
It's been said over and over but stuff like this is why McIlroy is loved by the masses. He's open and honest and fun, to boot.
Can you imagine the answers somebody like Tiger Woods would have given to a Q&A like this? Can you imagine Tiger even doing a Q&A like this?
No, you can't.
That's why I hope everybody cherishes McIlroy as a champion -- because not only is he one of the greatest golfers ever (already), he's one of the best interviews on tour right now. That's the rarest of combinations and something that's even tougher to pull off than it seems.
