A 2019-20 PGA Tour season unlike any other will come to an end when the FedExCup champion is crowned after this week's 2020 Tour Championship. The event tees off Friday at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, and world No. 1 and FedEx Cup leader Dustin Johnson will start with a score of 10-under par in the staggered start based on the standings. William Hill has Johnson as the 8-5 favorite in the latest 2020 Tour Championship odds.

Jon Rahm, coming off a thrilling win over Johnson in a playoff last week and starting two strokes back, is listed at 14-5. Justin Thomas begins at 7-under and is 6-1, while starting at 6-under will be Webb Simpson (12-1). Bryson DeChambeau and Rory McIlroy also are in the Tour Championship 2020 field and are at 22-1. Before locking in any 2020 Tour Championship picks, you need to check out the PGA Tour predictions from SportsLine's resident golf insider, Sal Johnson.

A media legend and consummate golf insider, Johnson has been locked in this season, and anyone who has followed his advice has hit big. Before last week's BMW Championship at Olympia Fields, he had Rahm and Johnson listed as his top two golfers. The result? One of the most dramatic finishes on tour in years, with Johnson sinking a 45-foot putt to force a playoff and Rahm rolling it in on a ridiculous line from 66 feet to win it on the extra hole.

"This course is a lot like Memorial, which (Rahm) won on, and a bit of Riviera, where he also plays well," Sal Johnson said of the Spaniard last week. The course played very tough, but Rahm and Johnson rose to the top, and the golf guru saw it coming.

Just as notable, Johnson completely nailed last year's Tour Championship at East Lake, predicting Brooks Koepka, Rory McIlroy or Xander Schauffele would win. McIlroy won the event for the second time, with Schauffele coming in second and Koepka tying for third.

He also had Tiger Woods in his best bets for the 2018 finale at East Lake, and Woods went 11-under par for a two-stroke win, his first on tour in more than five years. Woods also featured prominently in Johnson's best bets before the Masters last year, and the golf legend went out and won his fifth green jacket at Augusta. Anyone who has followed Johnson's golf picks has been rewarded with huge returns.

Now, Johnson, the first producer of "Inside the PGA Tour," a longtime ABC Sports golf producer who has worked with Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Greg Norman, and the founder of the world's top golf statistics database, has released his highly confident 2020 Tour Championship picks here, and they will surprise you.

Top 2020 Tour Championship expert picks

At the Tour Championship 2020, Johnson is fading Tony Finau. Finau ranks 35th or better on Tour in strokes gained off the tee, tee to green, approaching the green and around the green. But his driving accuracy is a concern. He barely ranks inside the top 200 on Tour at 52.43 percent. He's also 74th in strokes gained for putting. He's finished eighth or better in four of his last six events, but those two misses were a T65 at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational and a missed cut in the first round of the playoffs in the Northern Trust. He's starting 2-under, which Johnson believes leaves too much ground to cover at East Lake this week.

However, Johnson does love what he has seen from Patrick Reed in the last several weeks. Reed is emotional, and he thrives in situations like the setup at East Lake, where he can just play with nothing to lose. He starts at 3 under this week and has finished in the top 10 seven times, winning at the WGC-Mexico. He had a setback on the tough track at the BMW Championship, finishing eight over, but he had gone 30 under in his previous three events. Reed has been putting well, ranking 13th in strokes gained putting, and he also is 11th in scoring average.

Johnson has also seen the transformation of Bryson DeChambeau, who has taken a step back in recent weeks but remains one of the top players this season. The 26-year-old, who starts six strokes behind, has finished in the top 10 seven times this season and won the Rocket Mortgage Classic. He struggled to a 10 over score at Olympia Fields, but he is second on tour in scoring average. He also ranks first in driving distance and is second in strokes gained total.

How to make 2020 Tour Championship predictions

This week at East Lake, Johnson is all over an underdog who comes off a great week at Olympia Fields. This veteran player could be primed for his first win in more than two years, and it would be the biggest of his career. See who it is, and get all of Johnson's top PGA picks, right here.
