WATCH: Brooks Koepka, Jason Day hit wild shots from cart path, folding chair

One thing I've noticed that top golfers do more than, well, not top golfers is remove themselves from trouble proficiently. Everybody hits bad shots. It's what you do with those bad shots that matters. Do they turn into triple bogeys, or are you able to save par or bogey (or better)?

On Thursday, Jason Day and Brooks Koepka showed why they're two of the best in the world. Day made an outrageous birdie from the cart path on the 11th hole. It was one of his five birdies or eagles on the day, and it came after he tried to drive the green and ended up on the middle of the path. An easy up and down from there, and a near disaster, was converted into a circle on the scorecard.

Koepka's was a little more complicated and ended in par, but it was still impressive. I think I was more astounded by his ability to move the chair without touching the ball than I was anything else. Koepka went on to shoot a 67 on Thursday and was three back of the leaders at the end of the day.
