WATCH: Phil Mickelson goes driver out of the rough at the Phoenix Open
Mickelson does Mickelson this week on the PGA Tour
Phil Mickelson shot a 1-under 70 on Friday at the Waste Management Phoenix Open to get to 4 under for the tournament and slide into the top 30 before the weekend. But enough of the nonsense.
The real story here is that Mickelson used a driver out of the rough from 193 yards away. A driver! Out of the rough! From under 200 yards!
"I didn't really have much," said Mickelson stating the obvious after his round. "I was trying to get something that would cut it. It was sitting in the rough. The only play was to pitch out, but that's not really, you know, what I like to do."
Mickelson remains the greatest.
