GREER, S.C. -- Blayne Barber shot a 9-under 63 on Thursday to take the first-round lead in the Web.com Tour's BMW Charity Pro-Am.

Coming off his first tour victory two weeks ago in the South Georgia Classic, the 24-year-old former Auburn player had 10 birdies and a bogey on Greenville Country Club's Chanticleer Course.

"I'm definitely feeling some carry over from the win in Valdosta," Barber said. "It's one of those times when I'm playing well and not thinking a whole lot."

The start of play was delayed four hours because if heavy rain overnight and players were allowed to lift, clean and place their golf balls.

South Africa's Dawie van der Walt was second after a 64, also at Greenville Country Club.

Skip Kendall, Kevin Kim, Cliff Kresge, Bill Lunde and Jonathan Randolph shot 65. Kendall, Kim and Kresge opened at Greenville Country Club, and Randolph and Lunde played The Reserve at Lake Keowee.

Kelly Kraft and Mike Miller shot 6-under 65 at the Thornblade Club, the site of the final round. Sweden's Henrik Norlander also was 6 under at Thornblade with two holes left when play was suspended because of darkness.

In the Pro-Celebrity competition, the teams of Max Homa and Janet Gretzky, Adam Hadwin and Wayne Gretzky, and Kresge and Steve Azar topped the leaderboard at 10 under. They all played at Green Valley.
