CBS SportsLine Columnist Receives National Award

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (September 30, 1999)- CBS SportsLine's college football columnist, Dennis Dodd, will be presented with a first place award for writing achievement from the Football Writers Association of America during Sugar Bowl week at the national college football championship festivities in January 2000.

Dodd will be recognized for the best column, chosen from a group of nearly 40 entries in the best column category. Now in its seventh year, overall entries to the Football Writers Association of America's Best Writing Contest included submissions from the Boston Globe, Denver Post, Rocky Mountain News, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, San Jose Mercury News, Los Angeles Times, Newsday, Dallas Morning News, Sports Illustrated and The Sporting News, among others.

Dodd's winning column examined college football in the South following Terry Bowden's resignation as head football coach at Auburn University in October 1998. Dodd's achievement marks the first time an Internet sports columnist has been recognized with a first place award. Prior to joining CBS SportsLine in February 1998, Dodd worked for such publications as the Kansas City Star, the National Sports Daily and the Omaha World-Herald.

"Dennis' column typifies the standard of excellence we've set for editorial content on CBS SportsLine," said Michael Levy, president and CEO of SportsLine USA, Inc. (NASDAQ:SPLN), publisher of CBS SportsLine. "To have Dennis recognized as the best by a group of his peers is evidence that the caliber of writing on our site is every bit as good or better than that of even the most respected traditional print journalists. This level of quality sports content will continue to be our main priority."
