The Cleveland Indians concluded their disappointing 3-4 road trip on a high note with a victory at Cincinnati on Sunday, but they certainly are happy to be back at Progressive Field. Cleveland lost its 2021 home opener on Apr. 5 but followed with four consecutive victories on its own field, where it has finished with a winning record each of the last five seasons. Should you expect the Indians to continue their success at home, or is there value in the Chicago White Sox putting an end to that winning streak and bringing a return on the money line?

The latest MLB odds for Tuesday from WIlliam Hill Sportsbook list the White Sox at -115 (risk $115 to win $100) against the Indians. Other MLB lines of note include the Cincinnati Reds at -140 against the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Tampa Bay Rays listed as slim money-line favorites (-111) versus the Kansas City Royals. Before making any MLB picks on those games or others during the evening, you need to see the MLB predictions and betting advice from the SportsLine Projection Model.

This model, which simulates every pitch of every game 10,000 times, had a banner 2019 season, the league's last full schedule, returning more than $1,400 on its top-rated money-line and run-line MLB picks. It is off to a profitable start in 2021, going 21-14 on top-rated MLB money-line picks through three weeks, returning almost $300.

Now, the model has crunched the numbers for the Tuesday MLB schedule and posted its best bets for the evening games. Parlaying these four MLB picks would pay more than 20-1. Head to SportsLine to see the picks

Top MLB picks for Tuesday, April 20

One of the MLB picks the model loves for Tuesday evening: the St. Louis Cardinals at +110 on the money line against the Washington Nationals. St. Louis lost five of six following a four-game winning streak but has posted two victories in its last three contests, including a 12-5 triumph at Washington on Monday in the opener of the three-game set. Paul DeJong belted two of the Cardinals' five home runs in the rout, with his grand slam in the fifth inning blowing the game open, and Tommy Edman launched a two-run shot as St. Louis evened the season series at two wins apiece. The Cards have outscored the Nationals 28-19, registering all but two of their runs in the victories.

DeJong is batting just .189, but half of his 10 hits on the year have been homers, which ranks him first on a team that is tied with Atlanta for the major-league lead (25). The 27-year-old finished with five RBIs on Monday, doubling his season total and pulling even with Nolan Arenado and Dylan Carlson for second on the club -- two behind leader Yadier Molina (12). Adam Wainwright (0-2, 7.11 ERA) is 10-5 with a 3.21 ERA in 18 career games (16 starts) against the Nationals and will be seeking revenge for a loss at Washington on Wednesday in which he yielded four runs -- three earned -- and seven hits over five innings.
