Angels first baseman Albert Pujols will make his 2013 spring training debut on Tuesday according to CBSSports.com's Jon Heyman. He will DH and is returning to the lineup ahead of schedule following offseason surgery on his right knee.

Pujols, 33, was not expected to return to game action until the middle of March, so he's a week or two early. He hit .285/.343/.516 (141 OPS+) with 30 homers in 670 plate appearances last season, his first with Anaheim after signing a 10-year, $240-million contract. Pujols was expected to be ready in time for opening day even without being ahead of schedule.
