MORE: FA tracker: position players | FA tracker: pitchers

With all the top position player free agents off the board and the pitching market still handcuffed by the Masahiro Tanaka indecision, the hot stove beacon isn't shining too bright these days. There were no transactions on Sunday and only a handful of rumors. Here's a recap of the day:

RUMORS & SPECULATION

RHP Grant Balfour: Said four teams are interested in him and at least one has made an offer during a recent radio interview.

1B Lyle Overbay: The market for Overbay is "lukewarm." He'll likely be a low-cost pickup for someone closer to spring training. (Boston Globe)

RHP Masahiro Tanaka: There is speculation the Rakuten Golden Eagles could announce whether they will post their ace during the Christmas holiday this week.

Mets: Agent Scott Boras is trying to sell the team on free agents 1B Kendrys Morales and SS Stephen Drew. There is still no obvious landing spot for Morales. (ESPN)
