Marlins: Signed IF Ty Wigginton to a minor league contract with an invite to spring training, the team announced.
Red Sox: Signed LHP Jose Mijares to a minor league pact with an invitation to spring training (Fox Sports) ... Agreed to a minor league deal with OF Scott Cousins. He gets an invite to spring training. Cousins is best remembered for breaking Buster Posey's ankle in a home plate collision a few years ago.
RUMORS & SPECULATION
C Yenier Bello: The Cuban backstop has been cleared and can now sign with any team as a free agent. He's considered a backup more than a starter. (MLB.com)
RHP Odrisamer Despaigne: The Cuban right-hander has officially been declared a free agent and is eligible to sign with any team. Despaigne is considered a reliever long-term. (MLB.com)
