Angels place Tommy Hanson on DL
It just keeps getting worse for the Angels, as right-hander Tommy Hanson is having arm troubles. He has been placed on the disabled list.
Not that the Angels were hungry for additional disappointments, but here's one just the same: Right-hander Tommy Hanson has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a forearm strain.
Hanson was a late scratch from his scheduled Wednesday start against the Tigers, and now he'll be sidelined for at least two weeks. This season, Hanson has pitched to a 5.10 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 1.94 K/BB ratio. Hanson, 26, was once regarded as one of the top young arms in the game during his Braves days, but shoulder problems have diminished him. This marks his fourth trip to the DL since 2011.
To replace Hanson on the active roster, the Angels have recalled lefty Michael Roth.
