The Jays have placed DH/1B Adam Lind on the 15-day DL because of a mid-back strain. The move was made retroactive to July 26.
On the season, the 28-year-old Lind is hitting a disappointing .227/.298/.394 in 218 plate appearances. However, he spent time at Triple-A earlier this season and thrived, and he was showing substantial improvement since being recalled in late June.
Lind becomes the 12th Blue Jays currently on the disabled list.
To replace Lind on the active roster, the Jays have recalled 1B David Cooper from Triple-A Las Vegas. Cooper, age 25, is a career .250/.307/.412 hitter in parts of two major-league seasons.
