Braves-Nats bench-clearing incident sparks spat between PR depts.
Following a benches-clearing incident between the two teams on Tuesday, the Braves and Nationals PR departments got into a little Twitter spat.
In Tuesday night, Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper took Braves righty Julio Teheran deep for a solo home run to dead center field. In their next meeting, Teheran plunked Harper with the first pitch. That sparked a little benches-clearing incident, but nothing too crazy.
Following the fracas, the fine folks in the Braves public relations department tweeted out this playful jab:

The Nationals weren't fond of a rival PR department mocking a player getting hit by a pitch, so they responded in kind:

Two things: One, this is definitely two summer interns trying to out-social media each other, right? That's what it feels like.
Two, the Braves probably pimp more home runs than any other team in baseball. They're really in no position to take offense to someone taking one of their pitchers deep. I enjoy a good benches-clearing spat as much as the next guy, but geez. Look in the mirror.
