Braves to retire Chipper Jones' No. 10
Though this is hardly surprising, it's still news: The Atlanta Braves have announced that they will retire Chipper Jones' jersey No. 10 this summer.
Though this is hardly surprising, it's still news: The Atlanta Braves announced they will retire Chipper Jones' jersey No. 10 this summer.
The ceremony -- which includes induction into the Braves Hall of Fame -- is scheduled for June 28, when the Braves host the Arizona Diamondbacks. Tickets for that game will go on sale Monday, the club announced.
Here's Chipper discussing the matter Tuesday morning:

Jones, an eight-time All-Star, retired after last season, his 19th in the majors. He closed with a career .303/.401/.529 line, along with 549 doubles, 468 homers, 1,623 RBI, 1,619 runs, an MVP award and more walks (1,512) than strikeouts (1,409).
He'll head to the Baseball Hall of Fame eventually, so this is just the beginning of his post-career accolades.
