Cardinals make moves with pitchers Mitch Harris, Tim Cooney
The Cardinals have made two moves with minor league pitchers who have major league experience, per MLB.com. They have activated Mitch Harris from the disabled list and optioned him to Triple-A Memphis. They have also placed Tim Cooney on the minor league DL with appendicitis.
Harris, who has been sidelined with a groin injury, compiled a 1-1 record with a 3.10 ERA this season before going down. Cooney has performed well as a spot starter, but the return to health of Jaime Garcia resulted in his demotion to the minors.
