Carlos Gomez expected to miss at least one week with wrist injury
Brewers center fielder Carlos Gomez is expected to miss at least a week due to his wrist injury.
Things are going from bad to worse for the Brewers. One day after falling out of first place for the first time since April 5, the club learned they will be without star center fielder Carlos Gomez for at least another week due to a wrist injury.
Not so great news for #Brewers. CF Carlos Gomez has brace on sprained wrist and expected to miss at least a week if not more.— Tom (@Haudricourt) September 2, 2014
Gomez, 28, hurt the wrist during Sunday's game and has not played since. Trade deadline pickup Gerardo Parra has been playing center field in the meantime.
In 127 games this season, Gomez has hit .282/.348/.476 (128 OPS+) with 29 doubles, 21 home runs and 29 stole bases. He was also playing his usual Gold Glove caliber defense in center.
The Brewers have dropped six straight games coming into Tuesday. Obviously losing Gomez is a huge blow.
