David Ortiz not likely to return Wednesday
Red Sox DH David Ortiz had hoped his injured heel would be well enough for him to return from the DL on Wednesday, but that's probably not going to happen.

The return of Red Sox slugger David Ortiz from the disabled list will likely be pushed back. Ortiz, who hasn't played since July 16, experienced pain in his injured heel on Saturday and was unable to jog or swing a bat on Sunday, reports Enrique Rojas of ESPN Deportes.
Ortiz will resume baseball activities on Tuesday at the very earliest, which, as Rojas notes, makes it highly unlikely that Ortiz will be activated on Wednesday, as had been planned. "I can't say right now exactly when I'll be ready to play," Ortiz said. "Let's see how the process goes."
The 36-year-old DH has been outstanding this season, as he boasts an OBP of .414 and an AL-leading slugging percentage of .609. Since Ortiz sustained his injury, Boston designated hitters have batted a meager .239/.271/.348.
