David Wright to play today
Last night, Mets third baseman David Wright looked bound for the DL, but now comes word that he'll be back in the lineup on Saturday against the Phillies.
Since David Wright was unable to grip bat or ball on Friday because of his fractured right pinky, he seemed to be headed for a retroactive stint on the disabled list. However, Wright will be in the lineup and batting third today against the Phillies, the team announced via Twitter.
This is of course good news for the Mets, who get back their best hitter, and it's good news for Wright, who can perhaps get back to raking his way to a contract extension.
Wright and the Mets will oppose Vance Worley in this afternoon's tilt.
