Dodgers pitcher Joel Peralta made his second appearance of the spring Monday, striking out two in a scoreless inning of work.

Peralta got a late start on spring training due to shoulder issues but was able to make his Cactus League debut Friday, allowing one earned run on two hits in one inning. He fared much better Monday, starting with a fly out to center field before retiring the next two batters on strikeouts.

If Peralta is healthy and ready to go for the beginning of the regular season, he could be in the mix to serve as the team's closer while Kenley Jansen gets healthy.
