UPDATE: The Dodgers have officially placed Ramirez on the 15-day DL and recalled Gordon. The team did not make any other roster moves and does not have a timetable for Ramirez's return yet. He did go for tests, however.

The Dodgers will place shortstop Hanley Ramirez on the 15-day disabled list with a left hamstring problem, reports's Jon Heyman. Shortstop Dee Gordon will be recalled to fill the roster spot.

Ramirez, 29, had to be helped off the field during Friday's game against the Giants after pulling up lame while running the bases. He had just returned to the lineup Tuesday after missing the first month of the season with a thumb injury suffered while diving for a ball during the World Baseball Classic.

During the four games between injuries, Hanley went 5 for 11 (.455) with two doubles, one homer and one stolen base. Los Angeles has received close to nothing offensively from the left side of the infield in 2013, as its shortstops have hit .202/.269/.298 while third basemen are at .150/.265/.180.

Gordon, 25, has hit .314/.397/.431 with 14 stolen bases in 25 games for Triple-A Albuquerque this year. He's a career .260/.299/.315 hitter in 143 big league games, including a .228/.280/.281 line in 87 games last year. That performance contributed to the team's pursuit of Ramirez at the trade deadline.

Heyman says the Dodgers might make more roster moves prior to Saturday's game as well. Second baseman Mark Ellis hasn't played in a week due to a quad injury, so he is a DL candidate. First baseman Adrian Gonzalez was quoted as saying Friday, "I can't turn my neck right now." He was scratched from the series opener against the Giants.
