With rosters expanding in the coming days, this is a good time to check in with everyone's favorite embattled outfielder, Yasiel Puig.

As you know, Puig has spent the month in Triple-A, where he entered Saturday hitting .386/.435/.667 with four home runs and one Snapchat-related controversy. Based on those numbers, you would think he would be in line for a promotion over the coming week. Yet that might not be the case. Here's what Dave Roberts told reporters about Puig rejoining the Dodgers:

But when asked if Puig would be among the September call-ups when teams expand rosters on Thursday, Roberts said, "We haven't decided yet."

Ouch. Even so, the Dodgers seem to be in no hurry to trade Puig. According to Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal, the Dodgers haven't placed Puig on trade waivers, which is a customary act for most players this time of the year:

So, if the Dodgers aren't recalling Puig or trading him, that means he's about to play out the rest of the season in a purgatory state. Bummer. How is Puig taking the news? Evidently by being himself and not running out a double-play ball:

To be fair to Puig, it came on an excuse-me swing and looked like it might go foul. Still, that's probably not going to help his case.
