Not so long ago, General Electric harnessed science to crush a bunch of things with 100,000 pounds of pressure. Why GE did this is neither apparent nor important. What is apparent and important is that one of those things was a baseball ... 

And now for the big finish ... 

Hmmm. Appearances would suggest that baseballs this whole time have been filled with seasoned ground beef. 

In any event, while what you see above can be considered an act of desecration, science happened in the process. So it's OK.
