Hyun-Jin Ryu headed to disabled list with gluteal strain
The Dodgers are going to place Hyun-Jin Ryu on the disabled list, manager Don Mattingly told reporters Friday.
Ryu left his Thursday start early due to the injury. Both Ryu and the Dodgers initially felt he would be able to make his next start, so his injury must have felt worse than expected Friday.
Ryu, 27, is 13-6 with a 3.28 ERA (108 ERA+), 1.19 WHIP and 122 strikeouts in 137 1/3 innings this season. This will be his second DL stint of the year.
With Ryu down, recently-acquired Kevin Correia steps into the Dodgers' rotation.
