Jose Bautista vaults into top 3 for AL OF All-Star voting

Jose Bautista

While Josh Hamilton's place on the American League All-Star team seems secure, the rest of the voting for the AL outfield is getting tight. Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista has moved ahead of the Rangers' Nelson Cruz for third in AL outfield voting, according to results released by Major League Baseball on Monday. Orioles outfielder Adam Jones also moved ahead of Cruz.

Even though Bautista is currently among the top three in the outfield, his record number of All-Star votes seems to be in jeopardy. Hamilton has received 5,414,880 votes, closing in on the 7,454,753 votes Bautista received last season.

The second base spot is also getting interesting with the Rangers' Ian Kinsler leading the Yankees' Robinson Cano by just more than 15,000 votes. Cano has started the last two All-Star Games.

In-stadium voting concludes on Friday, while voting on continues through June 28. The All-Star teams will be announced on July 1. Here's the rest of the current voting results:
